Welcome to Moreton Say Nursery.
Here at Moreton Say, we are passionate that all children experience high quality and meaningful early years experiences and education, enabling them to develop a curiosity about the world around them, build positive relationships and become lifelong learners in a safe and stimulating environment. We aim to ensure that every child makes progress in all areas of learning from their own unique starting point.
Our relationship with you, as your child’s first and foremost educator, is vital in ensuring that this learning journey is successful. We are thoroughly looking forward to getting to know both you and your child. We understand that when deciding on a nursery for your child, there is a lot to consider. The step up to nursery can be a nerve-wracking time as well an exciting one, and it is vital that in partnership with parents that we get this right. Please book in for a visit to look around our school and meet the team. We also advise stay and play sessions to ensure a smooth transition to nursery for both you and your child.
Our learning environment is welcoming, inspiring and engaging. The children have access to three main learning spaces; indoor classroom, outdoor learning spaces and our forest school environment. We have carefully developed our continuous provision ensuring high quality play and high levels of involvement enabling all children to access learning at their own levels within a context that is motivational and exciting. Our classrooms are organised into defined spaces (construction, small world, block, role play, art…) with resources that children can access independently.
The curriculum is delivered in a thematic way, with each topic or theme guided by a fantastic picture book. The story acts as the anchor for the children’s learning, sparking curiosity and creativity. Our children enjoy planned, purposeful play, and through a mix of adult-led and child-initiated activities. We strongly believe that play is essential for children’s development, building their confidence as they learn to explore, relate to others, set their own goals, and solve problems.
At Moreton Say, we follow the latest EYFS Curriculum and Development Matters, which our EYFS team have adapted to ensure learning is relevant to the needs and interests of all our children, building on their unique starting points, guiding their development through warm, positive interaction with the right amount of ambition and challenge to maximise their progress and access to a wide range of learning experiences.
